American College of Physicians Release Statement on Acupuncture & Low Back Pain
On February 14, 2017 the American College of Physicians (ACP) released a press release on the treatment of acute or sub-acute back pain from a guideline published in the Annals of Internal Medicine. They stated that acute or sub-acute low back pain should first be treated with non-invasive, alternative modalities - such as acupuncture - instead of going to steroid medication or surgery. This is just one guideline released by the ACP regarding the use of acupuncture.
